Hello, Top Ladies! We hope you're having a wonderful week filled with joy and purpose. This update brings exciting fundraising opportunities, important event reminders, and a beautiful reflection on Black History Month. Your continued dedication to our chapter and the communities we serve makes everything we do possible. Please review these important updates and mark your calendars for the activities ahead.
We want to extend our deepest gratitude to every lady who contributed to our First Responder Appreciation Kits initiative. Your generosity and quick response to this call to action demonstrates the heart of service that defines our chapter. Because of your donations, we were able to assemble meaningful appreciation packages for the brave men and women who serve our community every day.
These first responders put their lives on the line to keep us safe, and your thoughtful contributions let them know they are valued and appreciated. From personal care items to encouraging notes, every element of these kits was assembled with care and gratitude. This is exactly the kind of community impact that makes Top Ladies of Distinction such a powerful force for good. Thank you for living out our commitment to service excellence.

Our "Heart Healthy Soul Food" Black History Month program is quickly approaching, and we couldn't be more excited about this unique celebration! This special event beautifully combines our cultural heritage with a vital focus on cardiovascular health, which is particularly important for the African American community. Heart disease remains the leading cause of death for Black women, making this education both timely and potentially life-saving.
This program will explore how we can honor our culinary traditions while making heart-healthy modifications. You'll learn practical cooking techniques, discover flavorful alternatives to traditional ingredients, and enjoy demonstrations that prove healthy food can be absolutely delicious. We're reimagining beloved recipes in ways that nourish both body and soul.

The moment we've all been waiting for is here! Tickets for our signature Blue and Silver Ball are now available for purchase. This elegant evening of celebration, sisterhood, and community impact is one of our chapter's most important events of the year. The Blue and Silver Ball not only brings us together in fellowship but also raises critical funds to support our charitable initiatives throughout Dallas.
We're asking each member to support this effort by selling a table, which includes a minimum of five seats. This is more than just ticket sales; it's about extending our reach and inviting others to experience the excellence and impact of Top Ladies of Distinction. Share the ticket information within your professional networks, community groups, and personal circles. Your outreach efforts will directly contribute to making this event a tremendous success.

Our Sickle Cell Committee continues its compassionate work supporting children at Parkland Hospital, and we need your help! Please remember to bring new blankets to our February chapter meeting. These blankets provide comfort and warmth to young patients facing the challenges of sickle cell disease, reminding them that our community cares.
Sickle cell disease disproportionately affects African American children, and the treatment can involve extended hospital stays and painful episodes. A soft, new blanket becomes more than just warmth; it's a tangible expression of love and support during difficult times. Children can take these blankets home, carrying with them a reminder that they're not alone in their journey.
What to Bring
New blankets only (for hygiene and safety)
Any size appropriate for children and teens
Colorful, cheerful patterns preferred
Soft, comfortable materials like fleece
Questions?

UNCF Spotlight:
Honoring Legacy Through Education
During Black History Month, we pause to reflect on the resilience, achievements, and legacy of the African American community. This season is not only about remembrance but about continuing the work of those who paved the way for opportunity and equity.
Why HBCUs Matter Historically Black Colleges and Universities have been pillars of access and advancement for more than 160 years. They continue to shape leaders across every field and remain critical to the future of our communities.
160+ years of educational excellence and opportunity
HBCUs have produced generations of Black doctors, teachers, judges, and leaders
Longstanding centers of cultural preservation and social progress
Ongoing need for scholarship support and student resources
Our Commitment Black History Month calls us to learn, reflect, and take action. Supporting education ensures that future generations have the same opportunities to lead, serve, and thrive.
Gifts from loyal supporters help deserving students attend, persist, and graduate from college. Together, we can continue building this legacy of opportunity.
We believe in the transformative power of prayer, encouragement, and solidarity. This dedicated space is where we uplift our sisters, celebrate shared victories, and provide unwavering support through every season. It’s a testament to the strength found in our collective faith and sisterhood.
“Let all that you do be done in love.” – 1 Corinthians 16:14
May we continue to lead with love, serve with excellence, and support one another. May our work be impactful, and may our sisterhood remain strong, compassionate, and uplifting. We pray for peace, healing, comfort, and joy for our members and their families. Amen.
